As for Pelycosaurs and Therapsids, I guess stem-synapsid is the best name we have for name. I'd really like a name that highlighted their distinctiveness and didn't compare them to other groups, but oh well.Cameron McCormickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08521083680718243221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6903316070344664352.post-86281609406335317742008-04-03T20:33:00.000-04:002008-04-03T20:33:00.000-04:00No such thing as a "mammal-like reptile," unless a...No such thing as a "mammal-like reptile," unless a reptile began converging on mammals. Y'see, mammals are synapsids, so the more correct term may be "mammal-like synapsid." Saying reptile is basically the same as saying synapsid. The two terms are (as far as I know), equivalent to their respective Amniota branches.Zachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08692080707969333711noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6903316070344664352.post-199283648562631702008-03-12T18:30:00.000-04:002008-03-12T18:30:00.000-04:00Something fairly bizarre looking deserves to have ...Something fairly bizarre looking deserves to have a cult following.

The pictures you have up look like the sort of thing people put in their pools for children to play on. Creepy, you don't know why they're there, but there's no denying the fact that it's there anyways.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6903316070344664352.post-36360583993943693002008-03-12T01:20:00.000-04:002008-03-12T01:20:00.000-04:00Dangit, I forgot about those "Mammaliaformes"!Dangit, I forgot about those "Mammaliaformes"!Cameron McCormickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08521083680718243221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6903316070344664352.post-41137611361076787602008-03-12T00:30:00.000-04:002008-03-12T00:30:00.000-04:00I don't think that anyone doubts that Castorocauda...I don't think that anyone doubts that Castorocauda was semi-aquatic.
